Privacy Policy for Personal Powerwall Assistant

Free-tier (monitoring only)

This Privacy Policy applies to the monitoring functionality of the Personal Powerwall Assistant (previously known as Powerwall Monitor & Terry’s Powerwall Monitor) apps and web apps.

Data Retention Policy

This app does not collect any customer user data whatsoever for the free monitoring functionality. This includes but is not limited to:

  • User Identifiers
  • Login Credentials
  • Usage statistics

Data Storage

The only data stored by this app is an ‘authentication token’ generated by the Tesla login process and only usable for this app. The token does not contain any user-identifiable information and is stored in the application’s properties on the user’s machine (or in local storage for the web application). No data is sent to or stored in any cloud storage or servers.

Further information

The app simply retrieves information from the publicly-available Tesla API based on the actions of the user in the app. This includes regular requests for current usage data, on demand requests for historical data.

Data Security

All data requested from the Tesla API is done so over a secure SSL connection. No plain text information is sent to the Tesla API from the app. Every request to the Tesla API from the app has to pass authentication using a secret key only known to the Tesla API and the app (this is the ‘authentication token’ mentioned in the Data Storage section above).

Automation tier

This Privacy Policy applies to the automation functionality of the Personal Powerwall Assistant which is carried out by servers on the Google Cloud Platform, not directly by any of the Personal Powerwall Assistant apps.

Data Retention Policy

In addition to the above details for the Free-Tier – for subscription purposes the server collects and stores email addresses but does not store any subscription payment details other than that. For clarity, no credit card, bank account, or other payment information is recorded or stored by the Personal Powerwall Assistant servers.

We do use a third party subscription provider called Stripe and users who choose to subscribe should ensure they read and agree with the 3rd party’s terms and privacy policy.

Data Storage

As mentioned in the previous paragraph, the only additional personal data stored by the automation functionality is the email address. Communications from the client applications to the automation server are only authenticated by means of an authentication token known only to the automation server and the client app.


Terms of Service for Personal Powerwall Assistant

These Terms of Service (“Terms,” “Agreement”) govern your use of the Personal Powerwall Assistant (“we,” “us,” or “our”) applications and automation server. By using our app, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the app.

Use of the App

Personal Powerwall Assistant is provided for your personal, non-commercial use only. You agree not to use the functionality for any illegal or unauthorised purpose. You further agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations while using the app.

Intellectual Property

All content and materials available in the app, including but not limited to text, graphics, user interfaces, visual interfaces, photographs, trademarks, logos, and artwork (“Content”), are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any of the Content without the prior written consent of us or the respective copyright owner.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The app and its functionality is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or suitability of the app for any purpose. You use the app at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the app.

Subscriptions and Billing

Some features of the app are available through paid subscriptions. You can choose to subscribe on a monthly basis, which provides access to premium features while your subscription is active.

Third-Party Billing

Subscriptions are processed and billed by a 3rd party called Stripe. Your payment information is handled by them, and you are subject to their respective policies.

Auto-Renewals

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription through Personal Powerwall Assistant app.

No Refunds

All purchases are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or the refund policies of the app store provider.

Changes to the App and Terms

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the app, its functionality, or any portion thereof, with or without notice. We may also change these Terms from time to time. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the App after any modifications to the Terms will constitute your acceptance of the modified Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
